Our Class Information

The doors open at 8:45am, register is taken at 8.55am and doors close at 9am. In Key Stage 2 the children usually come in by themselves, organise their own bags, coat, dinner money etc and settle down to the morning activity. The morning activity may vary from handwriting, grammar and punctuation activity, or quiet reading. This can be a good time for parents to speak to me if you have any concerns/worries. A confidential meeting can always be arranged if needed.

PE days this half term are on a Tuesday and Wednesday. However, we ask children to keep their kits in school all week as sometimes the day may change. Please make sure your child has shorts/joggers, T-shirt and pumps/trainers for PE and please could I ask that all items are named. Children also need their hair tied back and earrings taken out on these days or covered with tape.

The children need to remember their book bag every day which should contain their home school reading record, spelling book  and times tables book. Every morning pupils should put these on their tables to be checked. Writing in the reading diary every time you hear your child read shows them just how much you value reading. If pupils have not read, practiced their spellings or timetables each day at home then they will have to do this during break time the following day.

We do 'AR' reading in school every day, where the children read independently for 20 minutes and then take a quiz on the computer about their book. We ask that these AR books don't go home with the children as they are needed in school every day.

Children will be given homework every Tuesday. This is usually to be handed in the next day, as we have been working on it in class so should be still fresh in the children's head! Spellings and times tables will be given on a Monday and pupils will be tested on the Friday.

Please check your child's book bag regularly, probably every day, for notes, newsletters and any other information we have given your child. We do our very best to keep you informed about everything that is going on in school, so please read what we send home.

Thank you for your continued support.
